Dexter Southfield School

The 33,000 SF Gui Building provides a new home for Dexter’s lower school’s grades 3-5. The new building connects to the Hewitt Building which houses grades PK-2 to unify Dexter’s entire lower school into one connected complex.
Presentation Mode

I love that every student comes in through the main doors, and the first thing they do is look down through the glass overlooking the Reading and Learning Center. They see themselves there and are ready to learn.

The main entry offers a captivating view of the learning resource center, featuring a reading hammock and lower school maker space. Each grade enjoys breakout/project areas for collaborative work

A bright and airy learning environment is achieved through vertical organization, dedicating each floor to a specific grade level and maximizing natural light and stunning views.
